Candidates selected through this scheme will be given a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. The central government will contribute Rs 4,500. At the same time, companies will add Rs 500 to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. The intern will get a lump sum amount of Rs 6 thousand.

Under this scheme, students studying online or distance mode after 12th can apply. The age of these candidates must be between 21 years to 24 years. Whereas candidates above 24 years of age cannot apply. Candidates whose family annual income is more than Rs 8 lakh or any member of the family does a permanent government job or has graduated from big institutes like IIT, IIM, IISER, NID, IIIT are not eligible to apply.
How many places can I apply?
The objective of this scheme is to provide internship opportunities to 1 crore youth in a period of 5 years. There are more opportunities in the fields of gas, oil and energy. After this, there are many internship opportunities in the travel and hospitality sector also. A candidate can choose maximum 5 internship options. Under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, the duration of internship will be one year.
