PM Modi Bhutan Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Bhutan tour has been postponed. The Ministry of External Affairs said that PM Modi’s visit to Bhutan on March 21-22 has been postponed due to bad weather there, the new date of the tour will be announced soon.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying, “Due to bad weather conditions at Paro Airport, a mutual decision has been taken to postpone the state visit of Prime Minister Modi to Bhutan.” Both sides are considering new dates through diplomatic channels.
When did PM Modi go to Bhutan?
PM Modi was scheduled to pay a state visit to Bhutan on March 21-22. During this time, the Prime Minister was to meet Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his father Jigme Singye Wangchuck (former King of Bhutan). Apart from this, PM Modi also had to talk with his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay.
Regarding PM Modi’s visit, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had said that this visit is in line with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Bhutan and the government’s efforts to emphasize the ‘Neighborhood First Policy’. .

The PMO said that this visit of PM Modi is to exchange views on bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest to both the sides. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss ways to expand and strengthen our exemplary partnership for the benefit of the people of both countries.
