Vladimir Putin praises PM Modi: Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a meeting in Moscow on Monday (08 July). He said that PM Modi has devoted his entire life to public service and he is doing good work for India. Earlier, PM Modi and President Putin hugged each other and shook hands warmly.
The Russian President congratulated the Prime Minister on becoming PM for the third time. The two leaders met over tea at Vladimir Putin’s residence in Vo-Ogaryovo. The Russian President told PM Modi, “You have a lot of energy and you are doing good work for India. I congratulate you on being re-elected for the third time. This is because of your work. You have dedicated your entire life to public service.”
‘It’s so nice to see you’
He said, “The most important thing is that 23 million children are born every year in India. This means that Indians plan for their future. This means that Indians are secure about their future. I am very happy to see you.” At the same time, PM Modi said that India has expressed confidence in his government’s policies for the nation. He thanked Vladimir Putin for inviting him to Russia for talks between the two leaders.
What did PM Modi say?
Prime Minister Modi said, “The Indian election was very important. 65 crore people have voted. For the third time in nearly 60 years, a government has been elected. This was done earlier by Nehru and this time I have got the blessings of the people of my country. It feels good to come to a friend’s house. You (Putin) invited me for dinner and talked to me.”
PM Modi received a grand welcome
Prime Minister Narendra Modi PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Russia to hold summit talks with President Vladimir Putin. He was welcomed at Moscow airport by Russian First Deputy Minister Denis Manturov. He is the same person who welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Russia. PM Modi was also given a guard of honour at the airport.
