PM Modi Meets Volodymyr Zelensky: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Ukraine. During this, he met President Volodymyr Zelensky and also signed several agreements. Officials said that these agreements will provide cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food industry, medicine, culture and humanitarian aid.
This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since Ukraine gained independence in 1991 and comes amid Kiev’s latest military offensive in Russia’s western Kursk region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India was never a “neutral or indifferent spectator” during the Russia-Ukraine war and always stood for peace.
Important points of PM Modi on Ukraine visit
1. PM Modi said, “I cannot imagine that I had to come to Ukraine in such a situation. On behalf of all the countrymen, I thank you for the efforts you made to rescue the children who were stranded here during that time.”
2. The Prime Minister further said, “Our first role has been to have a humanitarian approach. I assure you that we are with you in whatever you need from a humanitarian perspective. We have been a party from the very first day, we are not neutral.”
3. Narendra Modi He said, “Our stand is for peace, we are from the land of Buddha and Gandhi. I have come with a message of peace. When I met Putin for the last time, I looked him in the eye in front of the media and said that this is not the time for war.”
4. PM Modi also said, “There is no solution to anything through war. India will play an active role in every effort for peace.”
5. During talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, the PM reiterated India’s position that the conflict can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. He said New Delhi is ready to actively contribute to peace efforts.
