What is chak-chak?
Actually, chak-chak is a sweet. This ratlami is made from fried pieces of wheat flour shaped like sev. Chak-chak are made round or cubic. The chak-chak served to PM Modi were balls, which were similar to Murhi-ke-lai of Bihar and Mua of Odisha. Chak-chak is a sweet dish from the regions of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, which is considered the national sweet of Tatarstan.
To prepare chak-chak, the unleavened dough is usually cut into various shapes, often resembling an Indian sev. These dough pieces are deep-fried in oil until they become crisp and golden on the outside. The fried pieces are then frozen and soaked in hot syrup made from sugar, honey and water. The sweet end is used to bind the fried dough pieces together and give them a new shape. After which this sweet dish is ready.
Korowai is bread made from wheat flour.
Whereas, if we talk about Korovai, it is usually a round, decorated roti made of wheat flour, which is often decorated with many designs. Several layers of dough are used to make Korovai. By weaving them together a beautiful roti is made. This bread is usually baked in large quantities and has a distinct custom in Russian wedding rituals, where it is given to guests as a symbol of the newly married couple.
