PM Narendra Modi visit Kuwait Latest News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a special appeal to NRIs. PM Modi said on Saturday (21 December 2024) that NRIs should join the campaign to make India a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized the country’s role as a hub of innovation, green energy and electronics in the coming decades.
Addressing the Indian community at the “Hala Modi” event at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex in Kuwait, Modi said the age-old relations between the two countries should serve as the foundation for building future partnerships. Modi said that he is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Kuwait in 43 years.
‘Indian teachers are preparing the next generation of Kuwait’
He said, “The leaders and people of Kuwait have praised the skills and hard work of the Indian community, which has a population of one million in the West Asian country. “Indian teachers are preparing the next generation of Kuwaiti citizens, while professionals like engineers and architects are building the next generation of infrastructure.”
Information given about making special agreement with 24 countries
Inviting NRIs to join the campaign to build a developed India by 2047, PM Modi said the country is moving forward as a “Vishwa Bandhu” (friend of the world) keeping in mind the well-being of the world. India, with its young population, is set to meet the world’s demand for skilled manpower in the coming years and has signed migration and mobility agreements with around 24 countries, including Mauritius, Italy and Germany.
‘We are the global leader in fintech, startup and digital connectivity’
Pointing to India’s progress, especially in technology, infrastructure and sustainability, he said that the country is now the fifth largest economy. We are a global leader in fintech, startups and digital connectivity. He said that India’s “Developed India” and “New Kuwait” policy goals are shared objectives and provide opportunities for both sides to work together. Modi said that in the coming years, India will be the center of innovation, green energy, pharmaceuticals, electronics and semiconductors. On the other hand, Kuwait is an important energy and trade partner and India is a major investment destination for many Kuwaiti companies.
PM Modi also met former IFS Mangal Sen Handa
PM Modi also met Mangal Sen Handa, a 101-year-old former Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer living in Kuwait. “I admire his contribution to India and his passion for India’s development,” Modi said on Twitter. The conversation with Handa was arranged after his granddaughter requested Modi on axe.
