Insurance of Rs 2 lakh for Rs 20

The central government runs different types of schemes for many people of India. One of these schemes of the government is Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana which is an insurance scheme. This scheme was started in the year 2015. Under this scheme, the applicant has to pay a premium of Rs 20 annually. In which a benefit of up to Rs 2 lakh is available. This scheme of the central government is renewed annually. It has the facility of auto debit. The premium amount is deducted from the account every year on June 1.

How to get benefits?

Under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, if an insured dies in an accident, then Rs 2 lakh is given to the nominee or family members of the insured under the scheme. If both eyes are damaged in the accident or both hands and legs or one eye, one hand or one leg is lost, then also Rs 2 lakh will be given. Along with this, if one eye, one leg or one hand is not usable, then Rs 1 lakh is given to the insured.

Who gets the benefit of the scheme?

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana was introduced by the government especially keeping the poor and needy in mind. People between the ages of 18 and 70 can apply under the scheme. Only families belonging to backward classes or poor classes can apply for the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Please note that applications for the scheme can be submitted both online and offline.
