Actually, the full name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana. Under the scheme, work is done to provide identity cards and certificates to artisans and handicraft workers. Such people will be given interest free loans up to Rs 1 lakh under the scheme. After this, in the second phase a loan of Rs 2 lakh will be given with five percent interest rate.
Who are eligible for the scheme?
People associated with a total of 18 professions are covered under this scheme. These include professions like goldsmiths, potters, carpenters, sculptors, cobblers, masons, weavers, toy makers, washermen, tailors, necklace makers, barbers, fishing net makers, locksmiths and blacksmiths. Under the scheme, training will also be given for such work and during this period financial assistance of Rs 500 will also be provided daily. Apart from all the businesses mentioned above, other people cannot apply for this scheme.
