- Strong and premium build quality.
- Great display and stereo speakers.
- Good battery backup.
What we didnβt like:
- Low-light photography average.
- Software needs improvement.
Final Verdict
POCO X7 is a multimedia-focused smartphone that comes with good battery life and strong build quality. It takes great photos in good lighting and promises three years of OS updates. However, the software could be improved and the number of pre-installed apps could be reduced. POCO X7 is a great option at a starting price of Rs 23,999. Its strong build, premium design, great display and good battery backup make it special. However, there is room for improvement in low-light photography and gaming experience.
Design and display
The design of POCO X7 is quite premium this time. It uses a 3D curved display and POCOβs signature yellow color. Its faux leather back keeps away fingerprints and smudges.
The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel comes with 1,220Γ2,712 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The brightness of the display goes up to 3,000 nits, making it clearly visible even in sunlight.
The speakers come in a stereo setup, providing loud and clear audio output. The phone is protected against water and dust with IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings.
camera performance
The phone has a 50MP Sony LYT600 primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens and 20MP front camera.
Daylight Photography: Captures photos with good detail and sharpness.
Low Light: AI Night Mode improves, but sharpness and details are lacking.
Selfie Camera: Performs well in daytime, but average in low light.
Performance and software
With the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, the phone performs well in general usage like browsing and video streaming. However, the gaming experience is mixed. Frame drops were seen in high-resolution games like COD: Mobile and BGMI.
This phone based on HyperOS comes with Android 14, which includes AI features. However, the pre-installed apps make the phone feel a bit cluttered.
Battery and Charging
The phone comes with a 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It takes about 50 minutes to charge 20-100%. Gives a normal usage backup of one day, but the charging speed is average in this range.
