A case of kidnapping and rape of a six-year-old child has come to light in the Govindpuri police station area of South-East district. Angry people created a ruckus in front of Govindpuri police station on Tuesday night. Angry people blocked the traffic at Shrilal Chowk and kept raising slogans. A large number of women were also involved in this. People associated with some political parties kept raising slogans along with the crowd. Seeing the matter escalating, police from several police stations had to be called on the spot. Govindpuri police station police arrested the accused Balram Das (35) within a few hours. On Wednesday, the atmosphere was tense but completely calm.
South-East District Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dev said that on September 1, based on the statement of the victim’s mother, a missing person FIR was registered regarding the kidnapping of her six-year-old child. After this, the team of Govindpuri Police Station Head Rajesh Kumar started investigation. The police along with the victim’s family found the children on September 1 at 12:30 pm and brought them to Govindpuri police station. The child was medically examined at AIIMS Hospital. The child’s statement was recorded at 4:51 pm on the same day. After the medical examination, the child was sent to the Boy Care Home in Lajpat Nagar.
According to police officials, the victim’s family was always with them during the police action. Till that time, the victim’s family had not lodged any complaint about the child being molested. Two days later, on September 3, the child’s statement was also recorded in front of the magistrate. On the same day, the child’s statement was also recorded in front of the Child Welfare Committee in Kalkaji.
Family members complained of misbehavior
According to district police officials, on Tuesday evening at around 7.20 pm, the police received a PCR call that a child has been molested and police help is needed. When the Govindpuri SHO reached the spot with his team, it was found that the child’s family members had informed the police.
Police arrested the accused
Govindpuri police station took immediate action and arrested the accused Balram Das. The accused lives in the same locality as the victim. After this, people got angry and a large number of people gathered in front of the police station. The angry people and women tried to attack the accused and the police team. After a lot of effort, the police team managed to take the accused out of there.
Arrested for kidnapping and POCSO
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dev, the accused has been arrested under sections of the new law of POCSO and kidnapping. Meanwhile, a large number of people gathered outside the Govindpuri police station. Some local political people instigated the people. After this, a jam was imposed. ACP Kalkaji Rakesh Kumar, SHO Okhla, SHO Kalkaji SS Yadav, Amar Colony Karamveer also reached the spot with their team. All the people were removed from that place.
