The second miscreant who looted a woman’s chain in Tajganj, Agra was also arrested by the police during an encounter on Thursday morning. The miscreant has been shot in the leg. He was sent to SN Medical College for treatment. The looted chain has been recovered from him. There are already 5 cases against the accused. He has been to jail earlier also.
DCP City Suraj Kumar Rai said that on June 24 at 1.30 pm, a chain snatching incident took place in broad daylight near village Pachgain Kheda. Jaiprakash Soni had lodged a complaint. The incident happened with his wife. His wife was riding a scooty with her sister. Two miscreants riding a bike committed the crime. Both the women narrowly escaped falling from the scooty.
Police started scanning CCTV cameras. City SOG was also deployed along with Tajganj police. Police got important clues after scanning more than 50 cameras. Police had earlier arrested one accused in this case. Main accused Manish, resident of Midhakur, was absconding. Police and the bike-riding accused came face to face near the inner ring road near village Gutila late at night. Police tried to catch him. He started firing. Inspector Tajganj Jasvir Singh said that a pistol and chain have been recovered from the accused.
