On Tuesday morning at 5 o’clock, people were frightened by the sound of gunfire near Bhatta Mod of Tilsawa village on Mau-Azamgarh border in Muhammadabad Gohna police station area of Mau district. There was an encounter between the police and the criminals, in which a criminal was shot in the leg. The injured criminal is accused of the firing incident that took place in Mirpur Rahimabad village of the police station area on July 12.

Giving information about the encounter, Police Circle Officer Dr. Ajay Vikram Singh said that the police was alert after the firing incident in Mirpur Rahimabad. Kotwali in-charge Dharmendra Singh and SOG in-charge Manoj Kumar Singh were discussing among themselves to catch the criminals. Meanwhile, on the information of a criminal coming from Chiraiyakot by the informer, the police laid siege in Karanh Bazaar.
The miscreant started running from Chiraiyakot Muhammadabad Road towards Jahanganj Lagupur. The police team under the leadership of Sub Inspector Umashankar Singh and Sub Inspector Amitesh Mishra had already cordoned off the area near Lagupur. Seeing himself surrounded by the police, the miscreant tried to turn around and run away but his bike slipped and fell.
