In Etah, Uttar Pradesh, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself. After this, her husband and other in-laws were performing her last rites. Then someone informed the police. Police reached the spot, took out the half-burnt body of the woman from the funeral pyre and sent it for post-mortem. The husband and all the other in-laws absconded. It is said that the wife committed suicide because of her husband’s relationship with another woman.
The incident took place in Nagla Danda village of Rijor police station area. Village resident Omveer had a love marriage with Reena, a resident of Pilibhit area, 10 years ago. They have an eight year old daughter. At the post-mortem house, the village watchman, Badan Singh etc. told that Omveer also had relations with another woman.
His wife came to know about this. After which, arguments started taking place between them every day. Information was received that Omveer lived with another woman in a room on rent somewhere in Etah city. There was a lot of dispute between the husband and wife regarding this matter late on Friday evening.
After this, as soon as everyone went out of the house, Reena committed suicide by hanging herself. Later, the husband and other family members started the cremation of Reena. Then someone dialed 112 and informed police station Rijor. The police reached the spot and took out the dead body from the burning pyre.
CO Sector Sanjay Kumar said that about 80 percent of the burnt body has been sent for post-mortem. All the in-laws including the deceased’s husband fled from the spot. Efforts are being made to find them. The deceased was a resident of Pilibhit area. His maternal home is being traced. So that information can be delivered there.
