Inspectors of city police stations will perform traffic duty in Agra for a week. 10 mobile teams have also been formed. The team will respond to information about jam. This arrangement has been made so that people do not face the problem of traffic jam due to the force leaving for Lok Sabha election duty. The police station will regulate traffic during peak hours.
About 500 home guards and 150 constables-sub-inspectors engaged in traffic duty have been sent on duty for the first phase of voting. Due to this there is a shortage of policemen in the city. The pressure of vehicles is high on MG Road. From 7 to 11 in the morning, there is a crowd of school vehicles and people going about their daily work. Same situation prevails from 5 to 9 pm also. Not only on MG Road, people have to face the problem of traffic jam in the interior areas too. The problem was due to lack of force. There was a jam during nomination on Monday.
Police station duty at 25 intersections
DCP Traffic Syed Ali Abbas said that 10 mobile teams have been formed. Office staff has been deployed in this. 2-2 constables have been deployed in one team. They will be on duty at different points. When information about jam is received at the control room, a mobile team will be sent. He will solve it. The police station has also been asked to be put on duty. A letter has been written to DCP City for this. A request has been made for duty of 2 sub-inspectors of the police station in 2-2 shifts at 25 intersections, so that the traffic can be easily cleared even during peak hours. If there is more problem then force will be called from the police station also.
Volunteers will be provided training
An appeal was also made to the people for traffic duty. On this, people associated with various organizations contacted the police. People will be put on duty after training on this. Policemen will regulate traffic at general intersections with the cooperation of the public.
