Poltergeist Is Cursed Haunted Film: It is said about many horror films that sometimes strange incidents happen on their sets. Although sometimes it happens that the marketing team of the film does all this, but sometimes it actually happens. The most infamous incident happened on the set of a horror film released in 1982. Due to which six people died. That is why the film is also called cursed and haunted.

Why is Poltergeist called a cursed movie?
In 1982, Steven Spielberg along with Michael Grace and Mark Victor wrote the story of a horror film named Poltergeist. This film was directed by Tobe Hooper. The story of the film was based on the life of a family whose daughters’ lives are haunted by ghosts. This film is called Cursed. Making The Poltergeist was a very challenging task for the makers.

Real skeletons were used in Poltergeist
There was a scene in this film in which JoBeth Williams had to jump into a pool full of human skeletons. Williams did not know that the skeletons used in the scene were real. Williams told Vanity Fair in 2022, ‘I always assumed that the skeletons were made by the prop department. A few years later when I met one of the special effects people and I said that you guys are making so many skeletons, it must have been really amazing. Then he told me that we did not make them, but they were real skeletons.’

Four actors died during the shooting
Although many films in those days used real skeletons and dead bodies because they were cheaper than fake ones, it is believed that the skeletons used in this film were cursed and the film got cursed due to disrespecting the dead.

This is said because four actors of Poltergeist died during filming and two died soon after its release. Some died of cancer, some due to wrong treatment of the disease and some were murdered.

When a ghost was chased away on the set of a film
Actor Will Sampson played a magician in Poltergeist II. The actor was a magician in real life and told the filmmakers that he thought there were ghosts on the set of the film.

The deaths of the actors as well as some strange events on the set convinced him of this. After this, the producers made him perform a ritual to exorcise the ghosts on the set of the film, after which no strange events occurred on the set. But the surprising thing is that a year later Sampson died of kidney failure.
