Karnataka state’s ‘Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology’ has reported nearly 20% of the estimated 86,563 new cases in Karnataka’s Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR). Karnataka’s Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) reports that around 86,563 new cancer cases are treated every year in the state. There are approximately 2.3 lakh cancer cases in Karnataka. Which includes those people who are undergoing treatment and those who have recently been cured.
PBCR is part of the National Cancer Registry program of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It collects data on new cancer cases from a variety of sources, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs and others. ICMR coordinates the activities of PBCR. Provides training, technical support, and data evaluation and analysis.
Shocking report regarding cancer comes out in Karnataka
colorectal cancer: This cancer is increasing in both men and women.
Blood Cancer: Breast cancer is a matter of concern in women, especially young women.

Every year more than 13.9 lakh new cases of cancer are reported in our country. Around 87,000 new cancer cases are estimated to be reported in Karnataka in recent years. At any given time, India sees more than 37.5 lakh cancer cases and Karnataka sees about 2.3 lakh cases.
