Prachi Desai was born in a Gujarati family on 12 September 1988 in Surat, Gujarat. Her father is Niranjan Desai and mother is Ameeta Desai, her father is one of the big businessmen of Surat.
Prachi has a sister named Esha Desai. Prachi studied at St. Joseph Convent School in Panchghani. Prachi did her further studies from Singhgarh College in Pune. During college, Ekta Kapoor was auditioning for her new serial.
In the year 2006, Ekta Kapoor selected Prachi Desai for her serial ‘Kasam Se’. Prachi got the lead role in ‘Kasam Se’ and then she became famous in every household. Her work was appreciated and she also received many awards.
In 2007, Prachi appeared in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ but was later eliminated. Prachi also worked for some time in ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’. In mid-2007, Farhan Akhtar offered Prachi a film.
Prachi Desai made her Bollywood debut with ‘Rock On’ (2008) and success was always at her feet. The film became a hit and Prachi started getting work in the future as well. Prachi also received the Filmfare for Best Female Debut for ‘Rock On’.
In the year 2010, Prachi appeared opposite Imran in the film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai starring Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgan and Kangana Ranaut. In this film, Prachi gave liplock scenes with Imran and her work was also appreciated.
Prachi was also seen with Emraan Hashmi in the 2016 film Azhar. There were many adult scenes in this film and Prachi was in the news a lot. Prachi also did the film ‘Bol Bachchan’ in which she played an important role.
