The temperature in Varanasi has been rising continuously for the past one week. Due to this, there is no relief even during the day and night. The maximum temperature was 45.6 degrees Celsius which is 5.5 degrees Celsius above average. The minimum temperature reached 30.0 which was 1.9 degrees Celsius above normal.
Prayer to Lord Surya to reduce the heat
In the month of Jyeshtha, to get relief from the increasing heat of Lord Bhaskar, people performed worship according to the rituals in the Veda temple located in Taranagar Colony, Chittapur (BHU).
In coordination with Jyotishacharya Pt. Shivpujan Shastri, 51 Vedic Brahmins offered Arghya to Lord Surya with Gayatri Mantra and prayed for relief from the heat. Pt. Shivpujan Shastri said that the Vedas and Upanishads describe the method of living in harmony with nature. Through this, we can balance nature.
Patients are continuously coming to Varanasi’s divisional, district and BHU hospitals. Most of the complaints are of headache, restlessness, vomiting and diarrhea. Doctors are giving tests to everyone and advising them to drink plenty of water. Medicines are also being given. OPDs are also full. Special tests are being given in the children’s ward.
