Recently, during an interview with TV, Prem Sagar said that the entire team of ‘Ramayana’ used to work with dedication. He also shared many stories about the character of Hanuman.
Ramayana’s ‘Hanuman’ Dara Singh used to fast for 9 hours
Prem Sagar praised Dara Singh and said that he worked hard to play this character. He used to come to the set at 4 am every morning, because his make-up took about three to four hours. In those days we did not have prosthetics and we had to match the look with Hanumanji. The shoot used to start after three to four hours of make-up. During this period he cannot eat anything. In such a situation, Dara Singh had to remain hungry for eight to nine hours every day. This was quite difficult.
Dara Singh used to sit on a special chair for Hanuman’s tail.
Prem Sagar also told that Dara Singh had difficulty in sitting after asking. For this reason, a special stool was prepared for him, in which there was a cut, so that he could sit with the support of his tail. Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana became much discussed during the lockdown. On the demand of the audience, this serial was telecast again on TV. Even today people watch this serial with great interest.
How can the inauguration of Temple Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya be completed without TV’s Ram Seet and Lakshman. Even before this grand event, Arun Govil, Sunil Lahiri and Deepika Chikhalia have reached Ayodhya city.
