Despite CCTV surveillance, prisoners are still making weapons from things they need. They are attacking each other and trying to kill them. This year, more than a dozen prisoners have been injured in attacks.

Despite all the security claims and surveillance of thousands of CCTV cameras, prisoners in Tihar Jail are making deadly weapons. These weapons are used in gang wars or in personal rivalries to attack each other. Sometimes prisoners get seriously injured in this bloody game and sometimes it proves fatal. In the last few months, two prisoners have lost their lives in attacks. Despite strong claims of security, the jail administration has not been able to identify the place where the prisoners are secretly making weapons.

Last year, a video of Tihar Jail went viral. In this, some prisoners murdered gangster Tillu Tajpuria in jail number 8-9. The weapon used in Tillu’s murder was prepared by the prisoners in the jail itself. A knife-like weapon was made using the blade of an exhaust fan and the gangster was attacked and killed with this. After this incident, a network of CCTV cameras was installed to strengthen the security of the jail. Along with this, a quick response team (QRT) was formed. Even state-of-the-art cameras were installed to curb the incident.
