Pro Khalistan Group Honors Former Punjab CM Beant Singh Bomber With Assassination Floats

Pro-Khalistan rally in Canada: Pro-Khalistan extremist groups in Canada took out a procession on Saturday (August 31) in support of another killer. This time a “tribute” was paid to the suicide bomber responsible for the assassination of the then Chief Minister of Punjab Beant Singh in 1995.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the floats taken to the Indian Consulate in Vancouver depicted a blood-soaked assassination in a bomb-damaged car, and also carried photographs of the dead chief minister. The float had the words, “Beant was killed by being blown up with a bomb.” During this, tributes were also paid to his assassin Dilawar Singh Babbar. Dilawar Singh was a suicide bomber. This assassination took place 29 years ago on 31 August 1995.

A rally was also taken out in Toronto

At the same time, a similar rally was taken out in Toronto, which was led by Inderjit Singh Gosal. Inderjit Singh described the campaigners of the so-called Khalistan referendum as the children of Dilawar Singh. Gosal is one of the main organizers of the referendum. He is also said to be an associate of Sikh for Justice’s Advocate General Gurpatwant Pannun.

In early August, he had received a threat to his life from Canadian law enforcement. This warning was given by both the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or RCMP. Gosal was also close to Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was murdered in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18 last year.

A rally was also taken out in support of Indira Gandhi’s assassin

A parade in Brampton in the Greater Toronto Area, or GTA, on June 9 included a tableau that showed an effigy of Indira Gandhi while her bodyguards fired at her. It also included posters saying her “punishment” was “carried out” on October 31, 1984, the date of the assassination. The parade marked the 40th anniversary of Operation Bluestar, when the Indian army surrounded the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar to flush out Khalistani extremists.
