The issue of NOC of fire department for hospitals in Agra is still stuck. Even in the meeting of CMOs from across the state held with the Principal Secretary in Lucknow on Saturday, a decision on this could not be taken. In such a situation, a committee is being formed by the Principal Secretary. This committee itself will decide the mandatory requirement of NOC in hospitals operating in 9 meter high buildings.
The process of renewing the licenses of health institutions in the district is going on. In this, 1036 out of 1061 medical institutions registered in 2023-24 have applied so far. 30th April is the last date. In this, NOC from the fire department is necessary for a medical institution operating in a 9 meter high building. IMA officials argue that NOC is not mandatory in the new rules. Adequate resources are required to extinguish the fire. On this, a meeting was also held with the fire department officials at the CMO office, but no result was achieved.
CMO Dr. Arun Srivastava said that the Principal Secretary is forming a committee of experts to take a decision on NOC for the 9 meter high building. The committee will assess all the aspects and give a decision.
Unless a new order comes, the license will not be renewed without the Fire Department’s NOC. IMA Secretary Dr. Pankaj Nagayach says that if relaxation is not given in NOC, doctors will be forced to protest.
