Dwarka District Police has started the process of identifying five illegally staying Bangladeshi nationals and deporting them. The captured Bangladeshi nationals include two children. All were living in Uttam Nagar area. Dwarka District Police has identified five hundred suspects as part of an operation to identify Bangladeshi nationals. The police team is verifying the documents given by them in the border states like Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Jharkhand etc.

District Police Deputy Commissioner Ankit Singh said that as per the instructions of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Dwarka District Police is busy identifying Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in Dwarka district. The district special staff team under the leadership of Inspector Vishvendra Dhaka adopted various strategies to identify them. The team activated informers, local residents and other sources to gather information about suspected illegal immigrants. The team conducted verification drives in slums, labor camps and unauthorized colonies. In these campaigns, people’s documents were checked.
On January 1, the police received information about the presence of some Bangladeshi citizens in Uttam Nagar. The police team raided Kali Basti of Uttam Nagar and arrested five Bangladeshi citizens. They were identified as Mohammad Shahid, Nazrul Shaikh and a woman and 02 children. During interrogation, he revealed that he had come to India illegally from Bangladesh. After checking the mobile phones of the accused, their Bangladeshi citizenship was confirmed. All are residents of Bagerhat, Bangladesh.
The police team produced everyone at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office located at RK Puram. From where everyone has been sent to the detention center located in Indralok. From where the process of deporting them will be done. The police officer said that Dwarka District Police is continuously taking action against foreign nationals staying illegally. According to the police officer, Dwarka Police has deported 132 foreign nationals this year, including 116 from Nigeria, 7 from Ivory Coast, 2 from Ghana, 1 from Senegal, 2 from Uganda, 3 from Guinea and 3 from Uzbekistan.
