But seeing its color I got scared for a moment. The doctors and nurses were also shocked. Actually my pregnancy was normal. Sometimes the child used to move in the stomach, which was a pleasure to feel. But when labor pain did not occur even after the completion of the due date, we went to the doctor. What happened next was scary.

According to Andalusia Mesa, doctors said that the child’s lungs were filled with liquid. Due to this the infection has spread, due to which he was not able to breathe. Doctors named it Code Blue. He was immediately taken to NICU for treatment. Gradually his health started deteriorating further. We saw his eyes fluttering. Felt like he was having a stroke. When asked the doctors, they said that you are right, but he will be fine.

In this test, electromagnetic waves of the brain are measured. Finally, when son Carper was only 7 days old, permission was given to do his EEG. It was revealed that the child was having seizures every 30 minutes. This is causing damage to the brain. It is possible that she may be having seizures in the womb as well. That is why her actions in the womb were also abnormal.

Andalusia said, as soon as I was diagnosed, the doctors told me that the only treatment would be hemispherectomy. This is a surgery to completely remove the left part of the brain. This surgery was performed when Carper was just one month old. But this reduced his seizures by only 50 percent. Then second surgery had to be done. For two weeks we kept praying only to God in the hospital. Now he is somewhat fine, but cannot lift his head. Right now, she’s on five, six, different anti-epileptic drugs and she’s still having seizures. Andalusia said, when we came to know that his surgery would cost a lot of money, we started a GoFundMe campaign. Help came from many people, but we still have a long way to go.
