Remember that you UPI PIN has to be entered only to receive the amount deducted. To deduct money from your account, enter your UPI PIN at the time of initiating the transaction. If you want to receive money then UPI Pin is never required.
SMS Or do not click any link found on WhatsApp immediately. This link may be a scam, many such cases have been seen in the past. You get a message or email from a number like a bank with a notification talking about account blocking, winning a lucky draw, illegal purchases on your card and sometimes you click on it in a hurry.
to whom you are sending money Yes, verify the receiver name. Don’t forget to verify your UPI ID. If there is a mistake in the name, do not make the mistake of sending money by entering the PIN.
UPI PIN you You have to enter it on your bank i.e. UPI page only. While putting this, make sure that it is not visible, especially in a public place. Maintain confidentiality of PIN and do not share it with anyone.
QR code scanning This has to be done only for payment. Not that to receive money from someone you have to scan his QR code. This applies to both sending money and scanning QR codes.
