Ingredients for ragi uttapam
Ragi – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1/3 cup
Urad Dal – 1/4 cup
Tomato – 1
Green chili – 3-4
Onion – 1
Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp
Green coriander – 2-3 tbsp
Oil – 2-3 tbsp
salt – as per taste

How to make ragi uttapam
To make ragi uttapam, first clean the ragi, rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds. After this, keep them soaked in different water for 5-6 hours. After the fixed time, first take urad dal and grind it smooth with the help of a mixer jar. After grinding the lentils, put its paste in a deep bottom vessel. After this put ragi and rice in the mixer jar. Add a little water on top and grind them too finely.
When the ragi-rice are ground well, add the paste prepared from them to the urad dal paste and mix well. After this cover the utensil and keep it in a warm place for 10-12 hours so that it can be fermented properly. When the batter is well fermented, add salt as per taste and mix it well with the help of a big spoon or hand.

Now finely chop the tomatoes, onions, green chillies and coriander leaves. After this, keep a nonstick pan on the gas for heating. When the griddle becomes hot, put some oil on it and spread it all around. Then take the prepared batter in a bowl and spread it round by putting it in the center of the griddle. Put some chopped onion, tomato, green chilli and green coriander on it and roast it on medium flame by pressing it lightly.

While baking the uttapam, cover it and roast it on one side for 3-4 minutes. After this, remove the lid, flip the uttapam and cook it from the other side for 1-2 minutes. After this take out the ragi uttapam in a plate. Tasty and healthy ragi uttapam is ready. Make ragi uttapam in the same way from all the batter. Serve it with chutney.
