While talking to Geo TV, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had said- ‘I am the heir and adopted son of my master and uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Why would I need anyone’s permission?’ After this Nida had also said that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is her brother and she will not take any action against him.
Name was revealed in smuggling of foreign currency
In the year 2019, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan once again became a part of controversy when he was accused of smuggling foreign currency into India for three years. According to ABP News report, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had received $340,000 (Rs 2.42 crore), out of which it was claimed that $225,000 (Rs 1.6 crore) was smuggled.

However, the singer has given clarification on the matter and apologized to the disciple and the disciple has also said that it was not his fault.
