Vinesh has secured a medal by making it to the finals. While congratulating her, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He said that the entire system of power, which made India’s brave daughter cry tears of blood, has collapsed in front of her. On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Congress MP wrote, “After defeating three top wrestlers of the world in a single day, today along with Vinesh, the entire country is emotional. All those who denied the struggle of Vinesh and her teammates, and even questioned their intentions and abilities, have got their answer.”

Continuing his attack, he further said, “Today, the entire system of power that made India’s brave daughter cry tears of blood has collapsed in front of her. This is the identity of champions, they give their answer from the field. Best wishes Vinesh. The echo of your success in Paris can be heard clearly till Delhi.”

Vinesh Phogat, who was fighting against the system on the streets till a few months ago, has written a new story of courage and fighting spirit on the wrestling mat as well and has become the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the final of the Olympics. 29-year-old Vinesh from Haryana defeated Cuba’s Yusnelis Guzman Lopez 5-0 and took a step towards winning the gold medal in the 50 kg category of women’s wrestling event at the Paris Olympics. Vinesh was injured in the Rio Olympics and was stretchered out and her performance in the Tokyo Olympics was disappointing. After the victory, she said, “Tomorrow is an important day. We will talk after that.”
