An old building collapsed on Saturday night at Miston Ganj crossing in Rampur. A woman died after being buried under it. People were unaware of this during the accident. As soon as the debris of the house was removed, the body of a woman was found, which caused panic in the area. The debris was removed by the municipal workers, while two scooties were also recovered from the debris.
When the building collapsed on Saturday night, no one had any idea that the woman was buried under it. People were saying that someone was injured. The house is said to be the property of Saulat Ali Khan, brother-in-law of former MLA Afroz Ali Khan. Municipal employees sent trolleys and JCBs to remove the debris.
While removing the debris after the building collapsed, a woman’s body was found. She has been identified as Seema Rastogi of Mandir Wali Gali. The administration has not yet officially confirmed the woman’s body. Apart from this, two damaged scooties have also been found in the debris.
People say that after the house collapsed, no official reached the spot for a long time, due to which there is anger among the people. On Sunday morning, city MLA Akash Saxena reached the spot and consoled the family members of the deceased woman and talked to the officials about the matter. He said that the city is full of dilapidated buildings, which need to be monitored.
