Then this film flopped badly at the box office. Recently Prem Chopra has revealed this in an interview given to Zoom channel. Prem Chopra said- ‘Raj Kapoor was ruined as soon as the film Mera Naam Joker flopped. Because of that everything he owned was sold. Due to financial crisis, Raj Kapoor had to mortgage RK Studio. Not only this, he also sold his family property. Even after this disaster in Raj’s life, he did not give up and started working on making a new film.
Raj Kapoor’s comeback
Raj Kapoor launched his son Rishi Kapoor in the year 1973 with the film Bobby. In this film, Dimple Kapadia was also with Rishi Kapoor. This film of Raj Kapoor proved to be a superhit on the big screen. Raj Kapoor made his successful comeback in Bollywood with this film. Let us tell you that later the film Mera Naam Joker became a huge hit. The song Pyar Hua Iqraar Hua was from Raj Kapoor’s film Mera Naam Joker.
