Film career started in 1966
Rajesh Khanna started his film career in the year 1966 with the film ‘Aakhri Khat’. After this, he never looked back. He gave many great films in his career including Anand, Aradhana, Ittefaq, Do Raaste, Bandhan, Doli, Safar, Khamoshi, Kati Patang, Aan Milo Sajna and Train.
Worked in these films with Mumtaz
In Hindi cinema, Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz’s pair was one of the popular onscreen couples. Both of them worked in ‘Sachcha Jhootha’, ‘Do Raaste’, ‘Aap Ki Kasam’, Prem Bandhan and ‘Apna Desh’. But during the shooting of a film, Rajesh Khanna walked in the snow carrying Mumtaz on his shoulders for several days. Due to which red marks were left on her body.
In an interview given to Times of India, Mumtaz had told that, during the shooting of the film ‘Roti’, Rajesh Khanna had to carry her on his shoulders and walk in the snow. During the shooting, ‘Kaka’ used to say to the actress, ‘Hey Moti, come on foot.’ Mumtaz says that, ‘I would also immediately jump and climb on his shoulders.’
The actress further said, ‘We did this for eight days continuously and he had to carry me on his shoulders for eight days. I was not thin at that time and due to doing this for eight days, there were red marks on his shoulders. Seeing this, we used to laugh a lot together.’
