Rajkummar Rao Debut Film Fees: Rajkummar Rao is currently enjoying the success of his latest release, ‘Stree 2’. This horror comedy film is making a splash at the box office in the country and around the world. While this film has crossed the 300 crore mark at the domestic box office in 9 days of its release, the film is rapidly moving towards touching the 500 crore mark worldwide. Amidst all this, Rajkummar Rao recently talked about his early days and struggle in the industry.
How did Rajkumar Rao get LSD
On Raj Shamani’s podcast, Rajkummar Rao revealed how he got Dibakar Banerjee’s crime drama, ‘LSD’. He said that he went to the director’s office after seeing the film’s ad and was asked to meet casting director Atul Mongia. When he called after getting Atul’s number, he was asked to send pictures. Rajkummar had sent pictures several times before coming for the audition.
Rajkummar shared that he was dressed a little oddly because of the details given for the audition, and someone even told him what kind of clothes he was wearing. This made him believe that the opportunity had slipped out of his hands, but it wasn’t so. Rajkummar further said, “I gave the audition and after three or four days I got a call, ‘Dibakar liked your audition. But you have to lose weight from your face.’ I said, ‘Yes, I will do it.’ I lost a lot of weight in a week. I ran a lot. I came back for the second and third rounds. Finally, I got the call everyone was waiting for, ‘Congratulations, you are playing the lead role in Dibakar’s next film.’
How much did you get for your debut film?
Rajkummar Rao further revealed that he did not get much money for his debut film, but he was grateful because he got a chance to start his career in the industry. Rajkummar Rao said, “I was like, ‘Thank God. I got a start.’ Of course, it did not get me any money. I got Rs 11000 for the first film. But it was not for the money, work was important.”
