The name of former Union Minister and SP national general secretary Ramjilal Suman, resident of Saadabad, has been finalized as Rajya Sabha MP candidate from Samajwadi Party. There is a wave of happiness among the SP regarding this. Suman has been a well-known face in the politics of the state as well as the Centre. He is considered very close to late SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Ramjilal Suman, resident of Bahardoi, was born on 25 July 1950. He did his education from Hathras and Agra. At the age of 26, Ramjilal Suman won the Lok Sabha elections from Firozabad on Janata Party ticket. After this, in the year 1989, he became MP by contesting elections from Firozabad Lok Sabha from Janata Dal. Ramjilal Suman was considered close to Chandrashekhar. Due to this, in 1991, Suman was made the Minister of Labor Welfare, Women Welfare and Child Development.
After the formation of Samajwadi Party in 1992, Ramjilal Suman joined Mulayam Singh Yadav. Once again in 1999, Suman contested the Firozabad Lok Sabha election on SP ticket and won. Also won from SP seat in 2004. From 1996 till now, he has been holding the post of National General Secretary in SP.
