Former block chief Nawab Singh Yadav, who is in jail on charges of raping a teenage girl, has filed nomination for Junior Vice President in the Kannauj Bar Association elections. Former block chief Nawab Singh Yadav, resident of Adangapur village of Sadar Kotwali, was sent to jail on August 12 on charges of raping a teenage girl. A case of gangsterism was registered against three people including Nawab and his brother Neelu. On the orders of the District Magistrate, the hotel and school worth Rs 17 crore of Nawab and his family members were attached. Nawab Singh Yadav is also a lawyer by profession. Bar Association elections are to be held on January 18. On Monday, Nawab Singh Yadav has nominated a junior assistant in the Bar Association elections from jail. District Jail Superintendent Akram Khan said that on Monday his authorized lawyer Piyush had come to meet him. He did not have any election related forms. He had come to talk about a case. Meanwhile, election officer senior advocate Anil Dwivedi said that Nawab Singh Yadav has filed nomination from jail for the post of Junior Vice President (First). After scrutiny of nomination papers, voting will be held on January 18.
