Giving information about the case, it was said that Special Judge of POCSO Act, Vivekanand Prasad, found the named accused of the case, Mofiz Alam, resident of Bankat Mushari village of Majhauliya police station area, guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Besides, a fine of Rs 20 thousand has also been ordered.
This decision of the court has come after two years. POCSO Act Special Public Prosecutor Vedprakash Dwivedi said that the girl had lodged an FIR against Mofiz Alam at Majhaulia police station on 7 February 2022. In which it was alleged that Mofiz used to continuously have physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage. Not only this, whenever she went out of the house, he used to catch her on the way and molest her.
Here, under the Bihar Victim Compensation Scheme, an order has also been given to provide a grant amount of Rs 5 lakh to the girl victim. Told that the accused continued sexually exploiting the victim on the pretext of marriage. When the victim pressurized her for marriage, the accused refused. Started threatening to kill. In the same case, the judge found the accused Mofiz Alam guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment under Section 376 (3) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the POCSO Act and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000.
