Red Notice Review: Dwayne Johnson’s action comedy ‘Red Notice’ is a blast

Review: Ever since Dwayne Johnson has got the support of Danny Garcia and Hiram Garcia, he has continuously put on a flurry of big budget and successful action comedy films. Shortly before, his grand film Jungle Cruise was released on Disney Plus Hotstar, now another action comedy ‘Red Notice’ has been released on Netflix, seeing which the audience will once again get to see the best comedy and action, but this time New methods of theft have been resorted to to find the treasure. Red Notice is funny. The shooting was delayed due to Kovid and this film crossed the budget of $ 200 million and is now known as the most expensive film of Netflix.

Bishop (Dwayne Johnson) and Sarah Black (Gal Gadot) are a romantic couple, both thieves and known in the world of art thieves as “Bishop”, although their true identities are unknown. Dwayne introduces himself as John Hartley, an FBI agent. In fact, both of them are looking for 3 “Golden Eggs” presented to Queen Cleopatra of Egypt by her lover General Mark Antony 2000 years ago so that they can sell them to an Egyptian nobleman. His rival is Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds), another art thief. Playing their own tricks, Dwayne, Gail and Ryan try to find the treasure. Ryan later learns that Dwayne and Gail are partners, but it’s too late and all three “golden eggs” are out of his hands. At the end of the film, Ryan empties Dwayne and Gail’s bank accounts with the help of Interpol. In return, Dwayne and Gail join him.

Work has started on two sequels of this film, which means 2 more films will come in this series. It’s like this role was created for Dwayne Johnson. In the Fast and the Furious series, Dwayne plays the role of a cop but eventually turns to stealing. This roll is also of the same type. This film is going to increase Dwayne’s popularity because it is exactly Dwayne’s type of film and the audience expects similar humor and action from him. It was not surprising to see Gal Gadot in such a role after the role of Wonder Woman. His role was small. It is expected that he might get a bigger role in the sequel. A slightly better role was expected from the third angle of the film, Ryan because he is a strong actor. Ryan is nothing special as a clever, cunning and cunning art thief. His role may also be better in the sequel. The backstories of all the three actors were ended in the conversation, so the connection could not happen. Apart from this, the unique methods of stealing from the museum were completely disappeared, due to which the thrill could not emerge completely.

Some things are worth noting in the red notice. The chase sequences are fun. Dwayne Johnson is seen using his strong body properly. Ryan’s innocent face is genuinely sad after being betrayed by Dwayne. Some action sequences are good. British singer Ed Sheeran’s wedding scene is short but funny, and Ed Sheeran isn’t afraid to poke fun at himself. This film was to be released in the theater first.

All the big Hollywood studios had bid for its distribution. In the battle between Universal, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures, Netflix won and Red Notice became the second most watched film of the year. The recently released Halle Berry starrer-directed film Bruised has surpassed it. All the three leading actors have received a remuneration of 20 million dollars each for the film. It may be that this remuneration will increase further in the sequel.

The film is funny, may seem a bit half-baked, but looking at Dwayne and Gal Gadot, you can ignore the minor mistakes.
