This veteran actress is none other than Rekha. Rekha has proved her mettle in many films for her brilliant acting, but if we talk about her personal life, it has been quite turbulent.
Yasir Usman has made many revelations about the actress’ life in his book ‘Rekha the Untold Story’. In the book, he has told why Rekha’s marriage did not last and why her husband Mukesh committed suicide.
It is written in the book that Delhi businessman Mukesh Agarwal’s company Hotline used to manufacture kitchen items. Mukesh often used to invite film personalities to his parties. Rekha and Mukesh had a common friend Bima Ramani. Rekha used to go to meet her friend Bima Ramani. During this time, she met Mukesh and then they started talking and Mukesh fell in love with Rekha.
On the afternoon of 4 March 1990, Mukesh reached Rekha’s house and proposed her for marriage. The actress was shocked to hear this at first but then she too agreed to marry Mukesh.
After this, 35-year-old Rekha and 37-year-old Mukesh got married at Mukteshwar Devalaya Temple at 10.30 pm the same night.
Rekha was a Bollywood actress and due to work she used to stay in Mumbai. Whereas her husband Mukesh used to stay in Delhi due to his business. However, Rekha used to visit Delhi to meet her husband Mukesh.
Now Mukesh’s desire to meet film stars was increasing, this started bothering Rekha and then she started keeping distance from her husband Mukesh.
If media reports are to be believed, Mukesh did not like his wife Rekha working in films after marriage. He wanted Rekha to help him in his business. Rekha, on the other hand, loved her film career very much.
After marriage, Mukesh’s business started incurring losses and he slowly started getting worried. During this time, there were a lot of fights and arguments between Mukesh and Rekha. It had not even been a year since their marriage and the tension in their married life was increasing.
Rekha became so upset that she decided to divorce Mukesh and even filed an application for it.
However, just 11 months after marriage, Mukesh Agarwal committed suicide by himself. According to media reports, the rift between him and Rekha and the losses in business made Mukesh a victim of depression.
According to media reports, Mukesh hanged himself using Rekha’s dupatta. After her husband’s death, Rekha did not remarry and is still living a single life.
