When the couple got hold of the 400-year-old treasure, their happiness knew no bounds. He had found such a valuable thing while sitting.
Treasure found during repairs
According to Mirror’s report, the couple told about this incident that happened to them on social media. He told that he was renovating the kitchen of his house built in the 18th century. As soon as their floor was lifted, they found 264 gold coins buried under it. The coins were buried 6 inches deep in the ground. When they looked at it carefully, they found out that the coins were made between 1610 and 1727, when James I and Charles I were ruling. This incident happened in the year 2019 and in the year 2022, the value of these coins was estimated to be at least Rs 2 crore 70 lakh.
The couple could not believe it themselves
When the couple saw the coins buried in their house, they could not believe that they were actually gold. They did not understand why even after the existence of banks at that time, why would anyone keep coins buried in the ground. It is believed that these coins were collected by Joseph Fearnley and his wife Sarah Meister, who were the owners of this house at that time. Finding 260 coins at one place is one of the biggest archaeological discoveries. When people came to know about it on social media, they said that this is really the pursuit of dreams.
