In Hathras, the Basic Education Officer has also been caught red-handed taking bribe while the senior assistant of the Basic Education Department was caught red-handed. The team of the Vigilance Establishment Agra has also made him an accused in the case registered under the Anti-Corruption Act and has started the investigation.

The arrested senior assistant Devendra Singh was presented in the Anti-Corruption Court in Meerut on June 28, from where he was sent to jail. In this regard, assistant teacher Siddharth Kumar of Samvilian Vidyalaya Chandwara of Sahapau block had lodged a complaint in the Vigilance Establishment Agra.

He had alleged that senior assistant Devendra Singh posted in BSA office was demanding a bribe of Rs. 30,000 in lieu of getting salary for the period of his suspension, increment and removal of adverse entry. He had said that out of this, Rs. 25,000 was for BSA and Rs. 5,000 was for himself. On June 27, the team of Vigilance Establishment Agra arrested Devendra Singh red handed while taking bribe. Devendra was suspended and sent to jail.

It is being told that during this time Basic Shiksha Adhikari Upendra Gupta did not cooperate with the team. Even after being asked for, he did not provide the documents to the team for three hours and left the office without informing. SP Vigilance Establishment Shagun Gautam said that the complainant and the arrested accused also took the name of BSA in their statements. On this basis, his name has been included in the case. He will be called for questioning by issuing a notice.
