India 75th Republic Day: Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Putin on Friday (January 26) inaugurated India’s 75th Republic Day But while giving his best wishes, he said that India is moving forward with an ‘independent’ foreign policy, which is not so easy in today’s world. India has ‘reasonable influence in the international arena’ and is playing an ‘active role’ in resolving important international issues.
News agency ANI quoted Russia-based media network Russia Today (RT) as saying that President Putin was interacting with university students in the Kaliningrad region on the occasion of ‘Russian Student Day’ on Thursday (January 25).
‘India’s GDP has one of the highest rates of economic growth in the world’
President Putin also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi Under the leadership of India is developing at an astonishing pace. Its GDP grew at a rate of 7.7 percent, which is one of the highest rates of economic growth in the world. This is no small achievement. He interacted with the students about the diverse culture of India and the popularity of Indian films in Russia.
He further said that Russia can have full confidence in India and its leadership because it is confident that New Delhi will not play ‘games’ against them on the international stage.
‘India’s Make in India initiative is commendable’
According to President Putin, India has achieved impressive success in the socio-economic field as well as in the field of research and technology. The Russian President has also greatly appreciated India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
He said that Russia is one of the largest investors in the country (India) and it (Russia) is preparing to make bigger investments there. Russian company Rosneft has invested 23 billion US dollars in India.
