On the second day of Chakka Jam, operation of roadways was started with the efforts of Transport Corporation officials and the union. Till 10 am, passengers remained worried about roadways buses. But after that, passengers heaved a sigh of relief as buses started operating on all routes.
On the morning of 2 January, roadways drivers gathered at the workshop located in Sarsaul. Tried to protest at the gate itself. Bans were not taken out from the depot. But, in this hour of crisis, the officials of the Transport Corporation showed wisdom. Officials and union officials explained to the roadways drivers and operators. Said that this rule has not been implemented yet. If any such order is passed, the union stands with them. During this, drivers were called upon to work in the interest of the corporation. After which, at around 10 in the morning, the drivers took out the buses and left for their respective routes.
Number of buses on routes remained less
Operation of roadways buses has started. But, the number of buses on each route remained less. Due to which the passengers had to face some problems. There was a crowd of passengers at the bus terminals early in the morning. Due to roadways bus, passengers had to wait for hours.
Revenue loss of about Rs 75 lakh in two days
There has been a revenue loss of about Rs 75 lakh in two days due to traffic jam of roadways buses. On the first day, on January 1, the operation of roadways buses was completely halted. In which there was a revenue loss of Rs 50 lakh. Due to lack of operation with full strength on the second day, a loss of around Rs 25 lakh is estimated.
On January 2, after much effort, the roadways drivers were explained. Buses have started operating after 10 am. Operations will continue in future also. -Satyendra Verma, Regional Manager
