Atishi Gets Court Summon: On Tuesday (28 May), Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court issued summons against Aam Aadmi Party leader and AAP government minister Atishi. This summons has been issued against Atishi in a defamation case. The court has summoned Atishi to appear on June 29. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also an accused in this case.
Delhi BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor had filed a criminal defamation case against Arvind Kejriwal and Education Minister Atishi in the court. AAP leader Atishi had alleged that BJP is trying to buy Aam Aadmi Party MLAs. The BJP leader had filed a defamation case against this statement.
Atishi’s troubles may increase
Rouse Avenue Court accepted the defamation case of BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor. Atishi’s troubles seem to be increasing in this case. Voting for Lok Sabha seats is to be held in Punjab on June 1. At such a time, issuing summons against Atishi can increase problems for the party.
It is worth noting that the top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party are already in jail in the Delhi liquor policy case. At the same time, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered an investigation into several cases against the Delhi government.
Investigative agencies tighten their noose around top AAP leaders
In the Delhi liquor policy case, Arvind Kejriwal is on interim bail till June 1 on the orders of the Supreme Court. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh is also on bail in the same case. Manish Sisodia is still in jail in this case. Satyendra Jain, on the other hand, is in jail in the disproportionate assets case.
