There was a lot of commotion at the medical store built in a nursing home located at Ramghat Road Vishnupuri in the Quarsi police station area of Aligarh metropolis regarding medicines with expiry date. Area police also arrived. The victim alleges that her four-month-old daughter’s health deteriorated further after drinking the medicine. The victim has filed a complaint against the nursing home and medical store operators accusing them of indecency.
Hemant Pratap Singh, resident of Sangam Bihar of Quarsi area, is working in a cold store. Hemant Pratap Singh says that four months ago his wife had given birth to a daughter in this same nursing home. For the last two days, daughter Divyanshi was suffering from cough etc., so she came to the nursing home and asked the doctor to give her medicine. When he was given a prescription for the medicine, he took it from the medical store of the nursing home and reached home. It is alleged that when the medicine was given to the daughter, her health deteriorated further. After looking at the medicine, it was found that the validity period of the medicine was September 2021 which has expired.
Hemendra Pratap says that when he complained about this to the doctor, he scolded him and said that if accidents happen on the road, will he stop walking? Meanwhile, when National President of Unemployed Mazdoor Kisan Union Kishore Singh and State President Jitendra Sharma tried to talk to the doctor, he went inside the nursing home without talking. Some officials of BJP Yuva Morcha also came here. The area police arrived and somehow pacified the matter.
In this regard, several attempts were made till late night to get the operator of the nursing home and medical store to know his side, but could not be contacted. Incharge Inspector Quarsi Subhashbabu Katheria said that the victim had not given medicine to the girl. The validity period of the medicine has expired. The medical store operator has also expressed regret regarding this. A complaint is being filed in this regard by the aggrieved party. Investigation is being done on this basis.
