Ukrainian army entered to create a buffer zone
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had said in his statement on Sunday (August 18), ‘The Ukrainian army entered Kursk only because we want to create a buffer zone so that attacks on us can be stopped. Ukrainian soldiers also blew up another bridge to break the supply line of Russian soldiers.’
The Ukrainian army has taken the lead in Kursk. They are capturing one area after another. Meanwhile, Russia has attacked the eastern region of Ukraine. The Russian army has entered deep inside Ukraine.
Pokrovsk is on the main road supplying
Pokrovsk is a very important area for Ukraine because it is at the crossroads of the main road supplying Ukrainian troops and towns on the eastern front. Donetsk Governor Vadim Filyashkin has asked children and their parents to leave from 14 places. He further said, ’53 thousand people including four thousand children are still living here. These people will now have to go somewhere else because the Russian army is advancing very fast.’
