S Jaishankar at UNGA: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed the 79th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday (28 September). During the address, S Jaishankar gave a blunt reply to Pakistan and said that Pakistan is suffering the consequences of its deeds and Pakistan’s GDP is used only for fanaticism.
Taking aim at Pakistan, S Jaishankar said, ‘Every form of terrorism should be opposed and Pakistan should be exposed. Pakistan’s terror policy will not succeed at any cost. Our neighboring country Pakistan is known for terrorism but Pakistan will never succeed. Peace and development go together.
India’s position clarified
Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said, ‘We heard some strange things from this very forum yesterday. I want to make India’s position very clear – Pakistan’s policy of cross-border terrorism will never succeed and it should have no hope of going unpunished. On the contrary, actions will definitely have consequences. The only issue to be resolved between us is to vacate the Indian territory illegally occupied by Pakistan.
Talk on Israel-Gaza war
S. Jaishankar said, ‘We strongly support the theme of the 79th UNGA ‘leaving no one behind’. We all have gathered here in a difficult time. The world has still not recovered from the havoc of the Covid pandemic. The Russia-Ukraine war has entered its third year and the conflict in Gaza has become even more widespread. This is an era where compromises have become even more difficult. At present we are seeing both peace and prosperity equally in danger because trust has now broken down.
