Every year, thousands of people come here from far and wide to see the tableaux of Goddess Durga Maa and be a part of the festivities. Crowds of people gather throughout the city, due to which roads, stages and rooftops are all filled with crowd. Something different and unique was seen in this year’s Dussehra celebrations, which not only caught people’s attention but also gave an important message to the society.

In this year’s special tableau, more than 50 girls were walking amidst a crowd of thousands holding swords in their hands. This scene was seen for the first time in the ocean. The aim of these girls was clear – to give the message of women power and empowerment. This tableau gave the message that women are not only tolerant, they are also capable of raising their voice against atrocities and taking up the sword if necessary. Through this message, the society was told that they should not make the mistake of considering women as weak and now the time to suppress them is over. This tableau was a symbolic protest against mistreatment and injustice.

Like Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, these girls, dressed in Bundeli clothes, with turbans on their heads and swords in their hands, roamed the streets of the city from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. During this, he covered a distance of about 10 kilometers, which included every major street and road of the city. This event was unique in itself and such a scene was seen for the first time in Sagar, which made it a topic of discussion in the entire city. People appreciated this tableau and considered it a symbol of women empowerment.
