A married woman Sarita Devi (30) committed suicide by hanging herself in Mir Tola of Sadar police station area of Saharsa district. Sarita’s husband Arvind Chaudhary told the police that he had gone to work in the morning after dropping his children to school. When he returned home in the afternoon, he saw that the door of the house was locked from inside. When the door did not open despite knocking and calling, he broke it. Then he went inside and saw that his wife Sarita was hanging from the fan with a dupatta noose.
On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and the FSL team investigated. The body has been sent for postmortem. The police have started an in-depth investigation into the case and are waiting for the report to find out whether it was suicide or murder.
At the same time, Arvind Chaudhary told that Sarita Devi had left home with her lover Rajan Kumar a month ago. On August 10, Sarita ran away with her lover taking jewelry and cash. After this incident, Arvind had filed an application in Sadar police station demanding the recovery of his wife. He had accused Rajan Kumar of kidnapping Sarita. According to the information, Rajan Kumar works in Uttar Pradesh and the relationship between the two was formed in Begusarai during a wedding ceremony.
Sarita returned home on her own after about a month. But she did not give any clear reason as to why she suddenly ran away and then returned. Now after this incident, her suicide is being investigated.
