Ingredients to make Sakkarai Pongal
Yellow moong dal – 1/4 cup
Rice – 1 cup
Jaggery – 250 grams
Raisins-10-15
Cashew – 2 tbsp
Almonds – 1 tbsp
Milk – 1-2 cups
Pure Ghee – 1/4 cup
Small cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Water – 4 1/2 cups

How to make Sakkarai Pongal
First of all, put half a cup of water in a pan on the gas. Now put jaggery in it. When it melts well, take it off the flame. Now put yellow moong dal in another pan and fry it. Roast it on low flame for about 2 minutes. Now in another pan, add four and a half cups of water to make rice. Before this wash the rice thoroughly with water. Now put the rice in water. After it starts boiling, add roasted moong dal to it.

When the rice water dries up, it will be cooked and ready. Now put milk in it. You can also add coconut milk to it. Play it well. Filter the jaggery water and put it in it. Cook it for 5-7 minutes. Now put cardamom powder in it. Add ghee in a pan and roast cashews, raisins, almonds. Now put the roasted dry fruits in the rice. You can also put one spoon of ghee in it. Tasty and very easy Chakra Pongal or Sakkarai Pongal is ready. You can sweeten the mouth of your guests with this sweet dish.
