Property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in a fire in a fast food shop in Chakjohra market of Dubha Panchayat located in Mohiuddin Nagar police station area of Samastipur district on Tuesday night. This incident is said to be the result of arson by anti-social elements. Vikram Mahato’s fast food shop and house were completely burnt to ashes.
According to the information, Vikram Mahato used to support his family by selling fast food. On Tuesday night he had gone to his old house for personal work. Meanwhile, anti-social elements set fire to his house and shop. The fire completely engulfed Vikram Mahato’s shop and house, causing loss worth lakhs of rupees.
Due to the fire, the wooden and electronic machines of Vikram Mahato as well as Pradeep Sharma’s son Raju Sharma were also burnt to ashes. Seeing the flames, the local people immediately dialed 112 and informed the fire brigade. But the fire brigade did not reach the spot on time, due to which there was deep resentment among the local people. The villagers opposed this. After this incident, the local BJP leader appealed to the zonal officer for help, demanding compensation for the victim’s family.
Mohiuddin Nagar police station chief said that an application has been given by the victim’s family regarding the incident. Police are investigating the matter and have assured to take action against the culprits.
