During a liquor party between four friends on Friday night in Murgiya Chak of Mohanpur police station area of Samastipur, the dispute escalated so much that firing took place. In this incident, a young man named Deepak Shah was shot in the chest, who was admitted to a private hospital in Patna in a critical condition. Deepak is said to be the son of Chandrabhushan Shah, resident of Mohiuddin Nagar police station area. Police have arrested a youth after the incident.
According to the information, Deepak Shah was having a liquor party with his three friends Rahul Pandit, Rahul Kumar and Anshu Kumar near the Freedom Fighters Ashram. During this time there was a dispute over some issue and Rahul Pandit suddenly opened fire. Deepak was seriously injured by the bullet. He was first brought to Patori Sub-Divisional Hospital, but was referred to Patna as his condition deteriorated.
Police have found empty liquor bottles from the spot, which makes it clear that a liquor party was going on there before the incident. The reason for the incident is not clear yet. At present the police is investigating the matter.
SP Ashok Mishra said that Deepak Shah has been seriously injured in the firing and is undergoing treatment in Patna. A youth is being detained and interrogated. The reason for which the party was organized is being ascertained.
